I have been considering trinkets for boosting pet threat, and comparing the various options available at the higher levels of content. There are limited options when it comes to defensive trinkets for pets, and it can be difficult to obtain them since
Now that we have a section on the forums for people to post their own feats, I'm going to scale back posting on the pet feats. As of now I intend to post anything with raid content posted on the forums, anything else that catches my eye from the ...
...for my pet tanking build is Readiness. I haven't put alot of thought into this, but all this talk about threat in the forums got me wondering about builds that include Hunter Vs Wild. Im not sure yet if such a build would make sense, but it did cause
Last night my guild was scheduled to finish up our weekly Naxx run, taking down Sartharion and Kel. Eager to get a chance to off tank kel's two adds, I watched some clips of the fight and read Kurasu's Feat again. As it turned out, we had two tanks ...
After quite a bit of time working to get the site just the way I wanted it, I'm proud to announce the creation of a new forum for the discussion of tenacity pets. It's been sometime since I've realized the need for a place to hold more in depth conversations.
With much difficulty I have updated the Talents page with talent builds for leveling, off tanking, and main tanking, along with a Hunter build to complement main/off tanking. The difficulty lies in the fact that you have more good talents than you have
I have a ton of stuff I'm working on, so I thought I'd keep you guys in the loop and also get some feedback. Here's whats been going on.
- I've updated the macros section, the talent reviews, and "the pets" page with new information.
According to blue posts the patch is going live today, which is great! But, it also means alot of work for me, so yay! There are new pet talents, changed pet abilities, new pets in ghostlands (old pets, new places), changes to the pet stats formulas,
Eventually i'll do a raid level gear list of useful tanking peices, but for now l just wanted to share some thoughts I had on new trinkets coming up in the patch. Wowhead has added a lovely new search criteria: "added in patch 3.1". This quickly leads
Although BM is the superior build for pet tanking by just about any metric, I am always curious to know if other hunters are using tenacity pets to tank, coupled with a MM or a Survival build. Of course, soon this will probably become quite rare, with
Today it occurred to me that I haven't put together a list of useful consumables for pet tanking and soloing. Although most of the potions are obvious, some might not be, and its always handy to have a list in one place for comparison. Feel free to mention
Recently Ghostcrawler has been having a substantial and ongoing discussion concerning hunters, and several statements caught my eye concerning tenacity pets. The thread is quite long and full of a ton of other topics, and can be found here, and for your
Hey everybody, I hope your week is going well. Yesterday was of course the patch, and as far as I can tell there are no changes that effect pet tanking, documented or otherwise.
There is, of course, a new equipment manager, and if you haven't
Between getting into pvp, and my desire to pick up the dun morogh cub (pictured left) from the argent dailies, I have been thinking about the tagline for the blog, "All things Tenacity Pets". So far, this site has been about the talents, soloing, tanking
Recently we heard that Blizzard had upped the dps on higher ilvl bows and guns, and that they had one other smallish buff in mind for hunters, in an attempt to bring hunter dps up to snuff. I had my fingers crossed in hopes that the buff would also ...
After an initial burst of interest in pet tanking from my guild, the novelty of using my pet to tank has worn off a bit. An abundance of player tanks has rendered further opportunities to tank few and far between. So I was pleasantly surprised to be asked
Well, if all the crazy changes to hunters and the game in general haven't proved to you that blizzard is evolving, this will certainly be the last straw. I first noticed the new philosophy when they changed the deadzone. Since then we have had a series
Well, it has been just over a month since my last post, and not without reason. Personally and professionally I have been absolutely swamped. A beloved co-worker has passed away, which has been extremely difficult for me, but I have taken alot of encouragement
In one of my recent posts I expressed the desire to cover more aspects of the tenacity pet family, so when I saw this site posted by mania, I jumped on it. Zardoz recently added pet data, which I found very interesting. The problem was that I wanted ...
You may have missed it, but at the very end of my last post, I expressed curiosity to know what you, my readers, thought about the various tenacity pets. So what we are going to do is use the polling system to find out which tenacity pets are your ...
Now that I know what you guys think of the tenacity families in general, I want to drill down and find out what you guys think about the different models in each family. If you didn't already vote on your favorite family, head back to the previous post
I've got to get you guys the summaries for the poll we just took, and I will... but this couldn't wait.
I've been reading through the streams of info from blizzcon about cataclysm, and most of it is pretty cool. I don't know about some of
Well, in some ways its hard to believe I've been doing this for an entire year, in other ways it feels like it's been way longer. I started getting into some theorycraft and just researching my character in general, posting my findings on my guild's forums.
Well, Durante has done it again, and frankly I am impressed and inspired. He has done a full write up in the forums and you can watch the video below and see the awesome in action!
Durante has been eyeing this fight pretty much
-Picture Unrelated- Well, I havent written but once this entire month. I have been going through what is easily the most difficult time I have ever gone through. Good news is i am still intact, both physically and mentally.

A little over one year ago I started writing this blog. It developed naturally out of my involvement on the ptr and my love for pets, and of course a long time dream to use my pet as a tank. Over this time we have seen buff after buff to ...
There’s been a lack of writing on my part for the last couple weeks because I started a new job just a day or two after making my last post, but things have finally settled down enough for me to have some free time again. Even better is since I’m
As the release of Patch 3.3 approaches, the class changes seem to all be in place and finalized. Let’s take a look at our upcoming tanking related changes before the patch hits.

Yesterday one of our own completed a very significant feat. Dnysopheus of Nagrand, known to us here at BRR as Doug, became the first entirely pet tanked Northrend Dungeon Hero. With the wide variety of trash and boss encounters that you face in the heroics,
Effective Health is a calculation that tanks have been using for years to help them make their gearing decisions. Simply put, it’s a mathematical calculation of HP and armor that calculates how much raw damage the tank can take before dying. Where
